Start a ripple

I hope the things I've shared have encouraged you, as they have me, to be more purposeful about encouraging others around you. I wanted to share one, final thought from Acts of Love.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. {2 Corinthians 1:3-5}

We encourage others because we ourselves have been encouraged and comforted by Christ. And, when we do encourage another person, we toss a pebble that creates a ripple effect. Dr. Jeremiah writes,
'When you give away encouragement you start a process that may never, ever end. You never know what will happen with the word, the little written note, when you put your arm around the hurting person. The process just keeps going on and on.'

I think the world could use a lot more encouragement ripples! Let's toss a few pebbles and see what happens.......
